With her formal education in art and art history, Virginia Strom Precourt kept her creative options in constant motion. In the morning, she would rise to the challenge of a blank piece of paper and a graphite pencil. The resulting illustrations served as the first fragmentary drafts of what would become, in time, a more evolved piece of art. Her subjects often were random, moving from music lessons at the Cyclorama in the South End of Boston to the Himalayan mountains.
