Before she moved into studio art, Virginia Strom Precourt helped support her young family as a commercial artist in Cleveland and Boston, with occasional forays to New York. The legacy of that work was the delicate touch for detail she brought to a variety of subjects. While the curing process of her larger art did not lend itself to the tight hand of illustration, her versatility allowed her to find expression in traditional oils.
