Virginia Strom Precourt was a dog person, from the Boston Terrier of her Shaker Heights, Ohio, childhood to Dreamy, the long-haired miniature Dachshund who comforted her at the end of her life. Yet, she was an equal-animal painter and the athletic elegance of cats everywhere—from explorer in the ancient roman ruins in Rumania to the neighborhood kitty who would nestle in the woods outside her studio—were a constant source of joy to Virginia… not to mention, an inspiration for her art.
