Virginia Strom Precourt had a sense of humor that underwrites the visual message of frustration in “Golf Curse”. After nearly 30 years of refining her polyfresco compositions, she had the confidence to move the medium into the whimsy zone. A pocket of neighbors in Dover, Massachusetts, were enthusiastic supporters of her work. And the common denominator among the men in that cohort: A passion for golf. As a tribute to those weekend duffers, she added a third dimension to her polyfrescos with a wink and a nudge.
