The sea sits far below the railing at the end of a garden path on the French Riviera. Virginia Strom Precourt has wandered away from her fellow researchers from the MFA to discover this quiet spot in a private garden. She’d wait until she’d returned to her studio to capture the mist that has risen from the waters below. And her sketch book will have captured how that foggy air seems to have inveigled its way into the garden trees.
