In the 1920s, Breezy Point, Minnesota was 120 very bumpy miles inland from Duluth, the city where Virginia Strom Precourt’s parents met, and where she spent the early years of her life. Though separated by a half-century, the lakeside resort remained clear in Virginia’s mind. When she reimagined the childhood destination, she enhanced that memory with touches drawn from Maine’s coastline villages. The final image existed nowhere else but in Virginia’s imagination… and in the oil “Tidewater Inlet: Breezy Point” canvas.
