One of the reasons Virginia Strom Precourt was so prolific from her ground-floor studio in Dover, Massachusetts, was the isolation it provided from the non-natural world. Birds flocked to the feeders outside her windows and to the seed she would scatter on the ground beneath the sliding doors that led from the outside to her work space. And so it was that the delicacy of birds was a natural subject for her find draftsman’s hand.
