January 1 - 28, 2018 - The interior begins to take shape: insulation, power, walls

January 5. Windows, but no front door and no heat
____________________________________________________________________________
To save our electrician a few hours, Jan and I hung this brass chandelier over the entry.
____________________________________________________________________________
Framed and nearly ready for wiring and insulation
____________________________________________________________________________
Although the barn is far from finished, the chandelier hanging over the entry is now lighted every evening.
____________________________________________________________________________
Rock lath begins on the second floor.
____________________________________________________________________________
Future work space on the second floor
____________________________________________________________________________
January 22. Foam insulation is sprayed onto the basement walls.
____________________________________________________________________________
Jan's future workbench will be against this wall.
____________________________________________________________________________
January 28. Jan and I begin to board the basement walls: a cost- and time-saving decision.
____________________________________________________________________________
Part of our future workshop, nearly fully boarded.
____________________________________________________________________________
Before the wall at the left can be covered, it must be insulated and inspected.
____________________________________________________________________________
Dense pack insulation blown into the second floor walls and above the ceiling will keep us warmer than ever before.
____________________________________________________________________________
Wiring! Finally we'll be able to retire the extension cords that have been tripping us all for the past months.
____________________________________________________________________________
January 28. It might look like spring, but we know that February is ahead.
