The autumn was Virginia Strom Precourt’s favorite season. In a series of oil, casein and acrylic works (see #42: “Sundance in Autumn”) from the 1990s, she captured the dappled light of the fall as the early morning sun flashed through the color of New England foliage. To give her the confidence she would need for those larger works, she experimented on a much smaller scale.
